Dinosaur Dig in the Hell Creek formation of Montana

Images by Paul and Hillary Murdock

On this fossil fragment, evidence of predation can be seen.
The bone to the left has scrape marks in it by teeth from a predator or scavanger. They are the parallel scrapes running perpendicular to the bone.

There are no signs of healing, so these marks were either made during death by predators, or after death by scavangers.
