Location:

Calvert Cliffs of MD

~ 22-8 Million Years Old
Early to Middle Miocene
Chesapeake Group: Calvert, Choptank, and St. Mary's Formations

This is a typical view underwater. The visibility was about 1.5 feet, which is pretty good. If you can see past the murk, you want to find spots that are covered in the pebble/gravel stuff. If there is only sand, there wont be fossils. In this pic, you can see the ground is covered in pebble/gravel stuff all around the rock. This is a good spot to rake around for fossils.

If the visibility is better, there are usually creatures out and about, such as sea horse like animals, weird fish that walk on the rocks, flounder, .... The crabs are always out!
