3 5/8" Subauriculatus (aka chubutensis) in Pungo contact layer

Here is the tooth when found. It was in a block of Pungo contact layer, part limestone, part sandy conglomerate.
Only a corner piece of the tooth was sticking out. |

After some chisseling, the limestone block split, revealing most of the tooth on one side. |

I decided to leave the tooth in the matrix as a display piece. Here is the finished product. |
